Why consider visiting Japan in the Fall?

March 18, 2018

Many tourists will consider visiting Japan in the spring time (early to late April) for its varieties of cherry blossoms, fragrant pink blossoms known as ‘sakura’ that are usually in full bloom for two weeks. Although lovely blossoms and warmer temperatures make for inviting reasons to visit Japan, its many gardens and parks, also consider the Autumn months as a beautiful time of year to  travel to Japan for a variety of foliage from crisp orange leaves to bright yellows and orange hues.

Having been born and raised in New England, I have always expressed gratitude and joy for the changing of seasons; autumn, winter, spring and summer. Having experienced several delightful Fall seasons, Autumn in Japan was not only extraordinary in November 2016, but seemed like pure magic. From admiring the maple trees with rich history to the leaves changing ‘koyo‘ in cities like Tokyo and Kyoto, it is promised to be a different experience yet charming in its own space. There are several national parks and gardens you may consider visiting and naturally the temperatures will be cooler in the fall months, but I recommend consider visiting mid-October to early December as the leaf colors are not only remarkable but one-of-a-kind !

I was able to capture some of my favorite Japan autumn photos through a lense for you to enjoy.
